This course is delivered within our Vocational Education and Training (VET) delivered to secondary school program. The VETDSS is a unique way for students enrolled in VCE or VCEVM to gain a nationally recognised qualification with the opportunity to pathway into further studies.

The SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant is an exciting entry-level qualification designed especially for secondary school students interested in starting a career in Barbering. This hands on course offers a fantastic introduction to the world of Barbers teaching students essential skills in customer service, salon safety, and basic barbering tasks such as shampooing, applying treatments, and maintaining salon cleanliness.

Employment / Career Opportunities

This qualification is intended to prepare individuals for further training in the barbering and hairdressing industry. The individual may perform a variety of tasks under supervision and with guidance from hairdressers who manage the client services


Entry Requirements / Prerequisites

This course can only be completed as part of a VCE or VCE VM program in Years 10, 11 or 12. Inspiring Training Academy requires all applicants to complete an application form and LLN test. The completion of the enrolment process is in conjunction with the students individual secondary school.

Student Support

Students undertake a pre training review to determine their support needs. Students can also self-declare on their enrolment form any support requirements they may have.
